This is late, but here's the latest team to break my heart.

Yeah, the Caps have beaten them a couple times during the Ovechkin era, but that doesn't mean anything if the Caps go down 2 games to none after tonight.

Game Seven

I hate this team myself.

I was just happy to see them in the playoffs after this year. Then Holtby had to be incredibly hot. Suddenly it looked like this team had the hot goalie for once. Beating the defending Cup chance would have been the biggest thing the Caps did since, well, the last time they beat the Bruins. In 1998, the Caps won in the first round FOR FREAKIN' ONCE since I've followed them and they were suddenly the top seed because the sixth, seventh, and eight place seeds prevailed. As crushing as it was to watch Esa Tikkanen miss that empty net in the Finals, I was just happy that the Caps just got that far.

I hate game sevens. I'm still scarred by the 1995 playoffs where the Caps got hot thanks partially to their goalie Jim Carey, led the Penguins in the series 3-1, and lost. I was so cocky that I said something like, "Tonight will be the Penguins last game" for three straight games.

I fully expect Wednesday night will be a blow out. Washington will turn its attention to RG3 the next day.

NHL Playoffs start Wednesday night.

Pfft, Boston. What kind of sports town is that? Who do they think they are? Acting all cool because they win all the championships! They don't impress me!

Oh sure, you may have this, but you'll never have something that the Washington D.C. area has!

I admit that I kind of rooted against the 2011-2012 Caps early on.  I mean, if I had to watch this team fail miserably in the post-season again... but now that Boudreau is gone and the team has sneaked in, eh, let's have fun with the final 4-7 games of the season.

Just to pile on the Capitals...

How the hell did he miss?!?!  This is the worst moment of my sports watching career.  I'm going to die before seeing the Caps get back to the semi-finals let alone finals.

The worst part is we probably would have only lost the Stanley Cup Finals four games to one instead of four games to zero.  Still, EFFF this game.

Maybe you were just the Marty Schottenheimer of the NHL: You're great one part of the season, but you fold quickly when it really matters.  But the important thing is, while the team fired you today, I fired you a long time ago!


Tork's Blog welcomes cheap shot artist Dale Hunter as the Caps new head coach.  At least he knew what it was like to get to the semi-finals round (twice) and beyond (once).

Please don't do this.  Please, please don't.

Please don't get the top seed for the third straight year, before failing to make your own conference finals.  Don't.  Either be a legit team or just fail now.  I can't take another punch in the stomach by you guys.

I've changed my mind.

Now I hope the Bruins take two of their next three games so it makes the Caps look even worst for losing to a team that wasn't good enough to make the finals.


And now Mickey is going to kill me for jinxing his team.

Seems the right thing to do

would be to root for the Bruins.

A) They're most likely to move on and face the Lightning in the conference finals.
B) One of my contributors is a Boston sports fan.


But I won't! Because I'm an asshole! HAGHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! GO WHATEVER TEAMS ARE IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE! Kill the east! KILL ALL THE EAST!

Yeah, it's nice that you won that one round and all, but your team has placed first place in its conference twice in a row. Just making it to the second round in your second try isn't cutting it.

I posted my last thing after the Caps went down 0-3 in Game 4, and by the time I hit the button the Caps were back in the game 2-3. I didn't say anything after the Caps won because I didn't want to jinx anything.

Good job, Caps. Bruce shouldn't be fired for now.

Caps play final home game tonight.

Last time I really checked they were in fourth or fifth place. Well, they've had a heck of a run. Not only have they won their pitiful division again, but they may be the top seed in their conference.

Which means they'll run out of gas in the first round.


Yeah, you're not luring me into that trap again this time, Caps. I'm onto your game.

The Capitals have clinched a playoff spot and may win their division. Too bad last year was so painful that I can't bring myself to watch them again. Jerks.
