Tork considers giving into Blu-Ray

Welp, I always assumed that Blu-Ray wouldn't be the next big thing. Who needs it when DVDs are enough? Besides, by the time Blu-Ray establishes itself, the next thing will come along. But look at this!

I've been waiting for these releases for several months. I'm sure they'll also have DVD versions, but looking at these I'm wondering if I'm fighting a losing battle.

WHAT THE HELL!?

I didn't think the birth certificate was a big deal, but now that I've read it...

I can think of at least three things wrong with document.

Silly woman.

Tom Servo's arms don't work.

Guess what.

I'm an idiot.

I posted my last thing after the Caps went down 0-3 in Game 4, and by the time I hit the button the Caps were back in the game 2-3. I didn't say anything after the Caps won because I didn't want to jinx anything.

Good job, Caps. Bruce shouldn't be fired for now.

Dear Bruce "Donald Pleasance" Boudreau

Get fired. You're not welcome in Verizon Center either.

This Week In Entertainment (4/12/11)

Harry Potter

Hey, remember that thing we should have done three movies ago? Finally we split a Harry Potter movie into two parts so its more than a "Greatest Hits" film. I missed the first movie in theaters so I'm glad this is coming out before the final movie.

More later...

The Nationals...

Hahaha, at least we have a baseball team.

As for the Destroyers, they don't have a QB yet. Or a season schedule. And last year they were a Florida team. But they're not owned by Daniel Snyder, so they have my support!

As for the Wizards.

I don't even watch them. Stupid basketball hasn't been interesting since Jordan left. Anyway, the Wizards season ends on the 13th.

I don't know, still seems like plenty of time for the Caps to end their season first.

Caps play final home game tonight.

Last time I really checked they were in fourth or fifth place. Well, they've had a heck of a run. Not only have they won their pitiful division again, but they may be the top seed in their conference.

Which means they'll run out of gas in the first round.

Yeah, you're not luring me into that trap again this time, Caps. I'm onto your game.

(On an unrelated note, I just noticed that some of my tags for "Washington Capitals" were missing a g. I'm really bad at tags.)

My inner fifteen year old is smiling.

Sometimes, I wish I had an HD console.

There is probably no Dominionism,

so stop worrying.

My favorite thing about that conspiracy theory (and its believers are every bit as dumb as truthers, birthers, kennedy...ers, and so forth) is that the U.S. always one step away from being changed into a theocracy. Meanwhile, evil Christians* have to pay for others abortions out of their pockets. You won't believe how the recent House vote to defund a corrupt organization like Planned Parenthood is proof, PROOF! that radical Christians are pushing their extremism on the country.

I remember reading a thread about that recent vote and one woman in particular was complaining that the wrong Christians (or maybe the Tea Party, but the thread lumped them all together) were trying to control her life. By using democracy to stop paying for her subsidies. Uh huh.

Not only do bullies pick on weaker targets, but they also pretend to be the victim once the target fights back.

* - As opposed to the good ones. But don't you dare ask for specifics. Propaganda only works if you're vague about one side. Just assume that the good side keeps its mouth shut and knows its place.

This Week In Entertainment (4/5/11)

My Pick of the Week is Tron: Legacy DVD for two reasons: I missed it in theaters and I wish I hadn't, and I think the gal on the movie poster looks attractive. In fact...!

You know, I've never seen the first movie, either. For a long time I thought Tron was just an arcade game with a big blue stick.

Also out this week in theaters is Soul Surfer, a movie about a woman who surfs after a shark bites her arm off. Yikes. Notice how the poster shows her non-severed arm.

The Bill Hicks Story, as far as I can tell from my admittedly limited research, is a cross between Man on the Moon and The People Vs Larry Flynt. In other words, rehabilitation of an unfunny comedian with a laughable free speech angle tacked on. (Man, there are times I'm glad I don't have an audience.)

After reading the premise for this movie, I'm surprised Jack Black doesn't a star in it.

On DVD is one of the Narnia movies. I don't know which one because it's been a while since I read the second book and I haven't seen any of the movies. From what I understand they were written out of order.

Watch as a respected actor gains weight! (Man, what a lazy joke.)

From what I've heard, she had quite a few words. At least in the book that's soon going to be a big film.

Finally, a film about the people behind the cameras.

And lastly, the Jabberjaw collection. Get this, it's a Scooby Doo clone except with a shark! And he talks like a cross between Curly Howard and Rodney Dangerfield! Isn't that just nutty?!

Rifftrax Player available for download.

It's no secret that the drawback of Rifftrax is that you have to wrestle with the mp3 file to make it sync with the movie you're watching. There was a previous player but it stunk. (It didn't even work on my computer.)

Now they seem to have a new one and I'm about to try it. Hopefully, it'll work on my computer. I have Windows XP, and the player only supports XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
